Let’s calculate the hypothetical profit with our Profit calculator:

  1. Select the trading Instrument you want to trade. For example, let’s take the index US30, which represents the value of the 30 largest US-registered corporations, also known as the Dow Jones index.
  2. Enter the lot size — for example, 2 lots.
  3. Choose the currency you want the calculations to be made in (USD or EUR).
  4. Set the period of time you plan to hold the trade for. Let’s assume it is 4 days.
  5. Enter the open and close prices. For US30, we use the automatically provided market prices.
  6. Choose whether you want to sell or buy this instrument. In our example, we will sell the US30.
  7. Click Calculate to view the results.

In our example, if we open a position of US30 in 2 lots for 4 days, we could get $124 as gross profit, and $0 in trading fees.

Let’s see what each value in the calculation results means:

  • Profit shows the amount of points you could potentially make from the trade.
  • Gross profit is the total profit in EUR or USD before deducting any trading fees.
  • Trading fees include the spread (measured in pips) and the cost in USD or EUR. It represents the fee of entering and maintaining the trade.

The “period in days” value can impact the swap rates or rollover fees, which are interest charges for holding a position overnight.

The results are based on the data you provide and current market conditions. Market conditions can fluctuate, affecting your actual profit or loss. So, our Profit calculator can be used only for informational purposes and should not be taken as definitive trading advice.

It is advisable to use the calculator before opening any trade to ensure you have a clear understanding of potential outcomes. This Profit calculator helps you plan and refine your trading strategy for so you can make more informed decisions.
